‘THE focal point for solution focused thinking in Milton Keynes’
What is Solution Focused Milton Keynes?
Launching in autumn 2013, we are aiming to grow an active community hub for SF practitioners, resources and projects in MK and beyond, supporting the development and application of SF ideas across the locality.
SFMK is also the Milton Keynes-based network for both the SOLWorld [www.solworld.org] and UKASFP [www.ukasfp.co.uk] communities.
What do we want to create?
· A local groupfor SF practitioners in the neighbourhood (or willing to travel into MK).
· A forum for sharing developments, learning, exchanging knowledge and ideas, networking, introducing SF into organisations.
· A learning community for professional development: peer support for professionals; mentoring for trainees.
Our vision is to support and encourage improved partnership working and more collaborative thinking among practitioners in organisations across the community – working towards a ‘Solution Focused Milton Keynes’.
Who is SFMK for?
We welcome a broad spectrum of solution focused practitioners and curious, self-motivated students of SF, including:Â
· trainers · OD consultants · educators
· coaches · social workers · health professionals
· managers · support workers · therapists
· leaders · counsellors · speech & language therapists
You don’t have to live or work in Milton Keynes to join our meetings. We think MK will be a convenient location for practitioners from outside the area too, so please come along and join us.
Where and when?
We are hoping to meet monthly in the evenings, on the third Wednesday or Thursday of the month (alternating monthly).
The first meeting of the group will be on Thursday 21 November 2013, 6.15-8.30pm, at the Works for Us office, Station House, 3rd Floor North, 500 Eldergate, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 1BB.Â
Street parking in Central Milton Keynes is free from 6pm, and the office is right above Central Milton Keynes station, if you happen to be coming in by train.
Full details and register your interest here www.sfmk.eventbrite.co.uk
The agenda will include networking, best hopes for the group, sharing ideas and planning for next meetings.
In addition, we are considering a half-day meeting twice a year, probably 1.00-6.00pm.
In true SF style, we will grow in an emergent way according to the wishes and energy of the group.
