About Paul Avard
After 26 years of working with challenging adolescents and their teachers, parents, school management, uncle Tom Cobley and all - where it was not always clear who was the more challenging ..... I retired from my role as an advisory teacher (actually - I was made redundant, however, there are benefits in that, as in most things).
During my last couple of years of working in education I changed direction slightly in that I trained as a hypno-psychotherapist with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. I continued, and continue to do sfbt as a 'talking therapy'. So now, I'm a member of the UKASFP and a UK Registered Hypnotherapist (with the Complementary and Natural Health Council - a Government Authority).
The addition of he hypnotherapy, I have to be honest - was a really, really good move on my part.
I have a hypnotherapy and hypno-psychotherapy practice here in the West Midlands. And, I also practice from a solution focus point of view and style myself as Ericksonian in my work as a hypnotherapist.
I offer training in solution focus approaches for practitioners; other professionals and anyone else interested in the approach. I also provide training in solution focused coaching, mentoring, team development and mindfulness..
I also offer training and support in the development of Restorative Approaches (Justice), in schools or other organisations from a solution focus viewpoint.
I offer Supervision - both clinical and training ... (I'm retained as a mentor by Change, Birmingham Brief Therapy).
Charges vary: typically supervision is £50 per hour (for an individual or £100 for small group (up to 4 persons)). Training fees depend on number of topic, number of delegates, venue and so forth.
If there is anything else you need or want to know - feel free to email me.
