I qualified as a social worker and subsequently as a family therapist. Founder member of BRIEF in 1989, a training, counselling and coaching centre in central London. We enjoyed a close relationship over many years with Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, the founders of soltuion focused brief therapy in Milwaukee.
I am the co-author of three books on solution focused practice and I have presented our work in many parts of the world.
I am the director of the Diploma in Solution Focused Practice, a year-long intensive training course for practitioners who have already undergone basic training of 8 days.
I work as a part time counsellor and coach in a secondary school in central London, in addition to my work as a therapist and counsellor at BRIEF. I have been the facilitator of many counselling groups whether with young people or adults.
I worked for many years in social services and the NHS before working with BRIEF full time. I have always been interested in the fullest range possible of the application of solution focused practice, whether with individuals, couples, families, groups or teams, and regardless of the presenting complaint.
